leave it up to fate

I would very much appreciate good thoughts/prayers for tomorrow. :[ I find out where I’m going to be spending my next year (as well as who I’ll get to spend it with). As someone in my class put it, it’s like my school’s own version of The Hunger Games. May the odds be ever in your favor. ;_;

Our hope is that we get to stick together, and we’ve kinda toyed with the idea of all of us just collectively moving to Logan so we’ll definitely be able to stay together (har har). Mike has been throwing around the idea of us renting a house together and getting a dog. There are about a billion reasons as to why I really hope we’ll all get to stick together, the first of which is obviously the fact that they’re my best friends here. It’s rather unfortunate that none of the following could be regarded as “dire circumstances.”

  • Study buddies!
  • Workout buddies!
  • Our band can stay together! (Mike quit before we ever began, but we keep him around so he can be head of security.)
  • Isaac and I want to learn Spanish so we can volunteer abroad in Costa Rica. We could practice together!
  • Mike hates folding clothes and I love folding clothes fresh out of the drier. I hate cleaning bathrooms/kitchens and he completely does not mind. We could totally work out a trade. :O (We’ve already agreed about this.)
  • They would be entirely happy to fund my grocery bill if it meant that I’d cook for them. Win-win!

We had a team meeting over the weekend to discuss possible what-if’s, but couldn’t get very far. For a time, we thought about employing the “leave no [wo]man behind” policy, so if one of us does indeed get shunted off while the other 3 get to stick together, one out of that three will leave to follow the 4th person so at least no one will be all alone. This, m’friends, is true friendship. (Especially if said leaving involves following the last person to Logan.) But I think the one person that would get shunted would feel really guilty, so we’ve amended it to “follow only if you really want to.”

We’ll see what happens though. I really hope we all end up where signed up for, together. ;_; I hate that we can’t plan anything until then. :[ My type A tendencies are showing.

May the odds be ever in our favor.
