going down swinging

M: Can you describe lymphoplasmacytic sclerosing pancreatitis and its significance?
F: (cross between maniacal laughter and sobbing)
M: Are you laughing or crying?
F: A little of both.
F: Yep, I think so.
M: Do you want to listen to “No Easy Way Out” or “We’re Going Down Swinging”?
F: “We’re Going Down Swinging.” At least we won’t back down without a fight, right?

Sometimes, you just gotta learn to roll with the punches. Our last final of the year was wildly depressing and to date, it’s the worst I’ve ever scored on an exam since starting medical school. If next semester’s exams continue on this vein, I’m pretty much done for, but let’s hope not. What matters is that I passed the course overall, right? (Gotta look for those silver linings. ;_; )
