Rich Dark Tiger Stripe Cookies

Apparently, if you bake cookies with a couple pieces of bread in the pan, it prevents the cookies from getting stale!

Rich Dark Tiger Stripe Cookies

-1 1/2 cups sugar
-1/2 cup vegetable oil
-1/2 cup Hershey’s special dark cocoa
-3 eggs
-1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
-1 1/2 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-powdered sugar
-48 Hershey kisses

1) Stir together sugar + oil in a large bowl. Add cocoa, beating until well blended. Beat in eggs + vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder + salt. Gradually add to cocoa mixture, beating well.
2) Cover. Refrigerate until dough is firm enough to handle (at least 6 hours).
3) Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease cookie sheet. Shape dough into 1 in. balls (dough will still be sticky). Roll in powdered sugar to coat. Place ~2 inches apart on baking tray.
4) Bake for 11-13 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched lightly + tops are cracked. Immediately press chocolate kiss into center of each cookie. Let cool.
